2011 ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION DEMOLITION DERBY TRUCK RULES

A. EACH DRIVER MUST FILL OUT AN ENTRY FORM.
B. ONLY ONE DRIVER/ONE PER TRUCK
C. ONLY DRIVER, CAR OWNER, MECHANICS ARE ALLOWED IN THE PIT AREA.
D. ONLY DRIVER ALLOWED ON TRACK.
E. EACH DRIVER MUST BE 21 YRS OF AGE OR HAVE A NOTARIZED RELEASE SIGNED BY THEIR PARENT OR GUARDIAN.
F. DISCLAIMER: ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION INC. DOES NOT IMPLY OR GUARANTEE SAFTY. TOTAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR INSPECTION OF CAR SAFTY AND RULE COMPLIANCE IS BY THE OWNER/DRIVER, NOT ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION. ENTRANTS IN THE DERBY ARE NOT EMPLOYEES OF ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION, BUT ARE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS AND ASSUME ALL RELATED RESPONSIBILITES.

I. DRIVER MUST WEAR DOT APPROVED HELMET AND USE SEATBELTS DURING COMPETION. FIRESUIT RECOMMENDED.

*STOCK FRAME ONLY for make and model- STOCK Truck except for what is listed below.

1. THIS DERBY WILL BE OPEN TO FULL SIZE ½ TON AND ¾ TON TRUCKS, SHORT BED OR LONG BED. KING CAB OK. IF 4X4, ONE DRIVE SHAFT MUST BE REMOVED. NO SUVS, DUALLYS, MILITARY VEH. NO UTILITY BOXES. STOCK BED TRUCKS ONLY! NO PRE-BENDING, FOLDING OR TUCKING.
2. TRUCKS MUST BE STRIPPED COMPLETELY BEFORE BROUGHT TO THE TRACK. THIS INCLUDES GLASS, CHROME, EXTRA SEATS, EXTRA SEATBELTS, TRIM, MOLDING, PLASTIC, FACTORY
3. TRUCK NUNBERS: NEED TO BE 18 INCHES TALL AND PAINTED IN A CONTRASTING COLOR ON THE DOORS.
4. TIRES: ANY TIRES
5. ENGINES AND LOCATION: ENGINES MAY BE SWAPPED FROM MAKE TO MAKE. #1 SPARK PLUG MAY NOT BE BACK MORE THAN 4'' FROM UPPER BALL JOINT. ENGINE MAY HAVE A SOLID FAN OR CLUTCH ELIMINATOR. DIST. PROTECTOR MAY BE USED BUT CAN'T TIE INTO DASH BAR OR FIREWALL IN ANY WAY OR INTEND TO TOUCH THE DASH BAR IN ANY WAY.YOU MAY USE 2 BOLT HOLES IN THE INTAKE AND 2 IN THE BELL HOUSING TO ATTACH.
5a. TRANSMISSIONS: MAY BE SWAPPED, AND SHIFTER LINKAGE MAY BE ALTERED.
FLOOR SHIFTERS OK. MAY RUN SOLID MOUNT. COOLER OK, MUST REMAIN UNDER HOOD-no exceptions!
6. REAR AXLE: ANY MAKE OR MODEL MAY BE SWAPPED JUST AS LONG AS IT IS 8 LUG OR SMALLER. TELESCOPIC OR SLIP DRIVE SHAFTS OK.
7. RADIATOR AND POSITION: ANY MAKE AND MODEL RAD IS ALLOWED. RADIATOR MUST BE IN STOCK LOCATION. RADIATOR MUST HOLD WATER, NOT ANTIFREEZE, OIL OR ALCOHOL. CONDENSER MAY BE USED IN REASONABLE MANNER. ELECTRIC FANS ARE ALLOWED. 1/16 THICK PLEATED STEEL OR EXPANDED METAL MAY BE USED TO PROTECT THE RADIATOR CORES ONLY, NOT WRAPPED AROUD THE TANKS. NO SPRAY FOAM.  OVERFLOW HOSE NEEDS TO POINT AWAY FROM YOURSELF AND COMPETITORS.
8. EXHAUST: PIPES MAY RUN UP THROUGH HOOD OR UNDER CAR BUT THEY MAY NOT FACE THE DRIVER.
9. TRUCKS MUST HAVE LAP BELT IN WORKING CONDITION. RECOMMEND SHOULDER BELT.
10. STEERING COLUMN: MAY BE MODIFIED. STEERING BOX NEEDS TO BE IN STOCK LOCATION AND USE FACTORY HOLES. UNIVERSALS MAY BE USED.
11. FENDER WELLS: MAY BE TRIMMED, ROLLED, TUCKED, WELDED, BANDED OR FOLDED. OTHER THAN THE FACTORY BOLTS, A MAX OF 4- 3/8 BOLTS WITH 11/2 WASHER MAY BE USED TO HOLD INNER PANEL TO OUTER PANEL. KEEP FLUSH I.E. BOLT HEAD OUT. INNERS MAY BE TRIMMED.
12. BODY BOLTS: THE RUBBER MOUNTS MAY BE REMOVED AND A MAX OF 3/4 INCH BOLT WITH 4 INCH PLATE MAY BE ADDED. OTHER THAN STOCK BODY BOLTS YOU MAY HAVE 4 ADDITIONAL BODY BOLTS WHERE EVER DRIVER WISHES.
13. BATTERIES: MUST BE MOUNTED IN CABIN ON FLOOR AND COVERED UP.YOU MAY HAVE A MAXIUM OF 2.
14. STOCK GAS TANK MUST BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH TANK PREFERABLY IN CABIN AREA OR BEHIND DRIVER IN BED. YOU MAY BUILD A CAGE AROUND TANK AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT TOUCH OR REINFORCE ANYTHING.
15. DOORS: MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN BOLTING, CHAINING, WIRING OR WELDING.  YOU CAN NOT USE BOLTS, CHAINS, WIRES OR WELDING TO ATTACH DOORS TO FRAME.  WELD PATCHES CAN NOT BE WIDER THAN 3” AND NO THICKER THAN ¼” ON OUTSIDE SEAMS ONLY AND NO WELDING ON INSIDE SEAMS AT ALL.  DOORS MAY NOT BE FILLED WITH SAND, CONCRETE, FOAM OR ANYTHING ELSE!
15a. ALSO YOU MAY WELD THE FRONT OF BED TO THE BACK OF CAB OR BOLT OR CHAIN THEM TOGETHER.
16. YOU MUST WELD, BOLT OR CHAIN TAILGATE CLOSED OR REMOVE IT.
17. HOOD: MUST BE USED. YOU MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN WIRE, CHAIN, WELD OR BOLTS. HOLES AT LEAST A TOTAL OF 144 SQUARE INCHES APPROX. 12” X 12”  NEEDS TO BE CUT IN HOOD FOR FIRE DETECTION. YOU MAY BOLT DOWN HOOD IN 6 PLACES USING 3/4 ROD WITH 4'' PLATES. I WOULD APPRECIATE A LONG BOLT WELDED TO THE NUT AT AN ANGLE LIKE A WING NUT FOR EASY REMOVAL BY YOU AND MY SAFTY STAFF. IF USING WIRE OR CABLE YOU MAY USE 1 LOOP OF CABLE OR 4 LOOPS OF #9 FOR A MAX OF 6 PLACES IN HOOD. IF WELDING, A HOLE NEEDS TO BE CUT 30''X34'' IN CENTER. 3'' WIDE 1/4 THICK STRAP IS MAX FOR WELDING HOOD. FRONT SIDE MAY NOT BE WELDED TO CORE SUPPORT, BUT IF WELDING HOOD CLOSED YOU MAY RUN 2-3/4''X8'' LONG BOLTS THROUGH HOOD INTO CORE SUPPORT ONLY. 8- 3/8 BOLTS WITH 1 1/2 WASHERS MAY BE USED TO HOLD HOOD TO HOOD LINER. 2 BARS COMING FROM ROOF TO FIREWALL MADE OF MAX 1X1 .250 WALL THICKNESS SQUARE TUBING OR 1 1/2 ANGLE .250 WALL THICK WILL BE ALLOWED. IT MUST ATTACH ONLY WITHIN THE FIRST 6'' OF FIREWALL AND ROOF.
18. NO BODY SEAM WELDING PERIOD!
19. BUMPERS: STOCK AUTOMOTIVE TYPE BUMPERS, NO BRUSH GUARDS OR PUSH BUMPERS. YOU MAY RUN ’74 CHEVY CAPRICE BUMPER OR NOVA OR MONTEL CARLO, ECT… ECT. THIS IS WHAT I MEAN BY STOCK AUTOMOTIVE, NOT KENWORTH, PETEBILT OR CHANNEL IRON!
20. BUMPER BRACKETS: YOU MAY USE AUTOMOTIVE TYPE BRACKETS SUCH AS IMPALA REAR BRACKETS OR BUICK SIDE MOUNTS. YOU MAY HARD NOSE. DO NOT STUFF ANYTHING INSIDE FRAME. YOU MAY ONLY WELD THE BRACKETS TO THE RAIL, NO OTHER WELDING ON FRAME! NO WELDING ON FRAME EXCEPT FOR BUMPER BRACKETS!!!
21. SUSPENSION: YOU MAKY WELD UPPER CONTROL ARMS TO RETAIN BUMPER HEIGHT OF 30” TO CENTER ON FRONT BUMPER AND 30" TO CENTER ON BACK BUMPER.
22. REAR SUSPENSION: MUST REMAIN STOCK. YOU MAY USE SPRING CLAMPS- 6 PER SIDE.
23. SHOCKS MUST BE STOCK.
24. YOU MAY CHAIN UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS.
25. DO NOT CHAIN HUMPS!

27. ALL DECISIONS MADE BY OFFICIALS ARE FINAL AND OFFICIALS HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECLINE ENTRIES DUE TO THE LACK OF ABILITY TO CONFORM TO RULES STATED ABOVE AND MAY NOT BE REFUNDED ENTRY FEE.
28. CONDUCT: NO ONE PERMITTED TO ARGUE WITH OFFICIALS OR OTHERS, FIGHT, ECT.  THIS GOES FOR YOUR CREW MEMBERS AS WELL.  ANYONE NOT FOLLOWING RULES MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
*INSPECTION: ALL CARS WILL BE INSPECTED BEFORE THE DEMO BY OFFICIALS.  WINNING CARS MAY BE INSPECTED AFTER THE DEMO. 
*CARS MUST BE ON THE GROUNDS AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE DRIVERS MEETING.
*ENTRY FEE:  WILL INCLUDE THE CAR AND DRIVER. PIT PASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL OTHERS.
